During World War II, instances of military vehicles occasionally collapsing bridges were not uncommon. Due to the weight and size of tanks, artillery, and other heavy equipment, bridges often struggled to bear the load, leading to unexpected collapses and hindering military movements.
Photo: a 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer, being pulled by an Sd.Kfz. 7 half-track, has partially fallen through this bridge.
