Gabes Airfield, located in Tunisia, was a pivotal strategic asset during World War II. Serving as a key Allied base, it facilitated air operations in North Africa. Its strategic position allowed for rapid deployment of aircraft, reconnaissance missions, and offensive strikes against Axis forces.

During Operation Torch in 1942, Gabes Airfield played a crucial role in supporting Allied ground advances. It also served as a base for disrupting Axis supply lines in the Mediterranean. Gabes Airfield’s contributions were instrumental in the Allied victory in North Africa and subsequent operations in the European theater.
