Type 94 Tankette (IBG Models 72044) + VIDEO

Today we publish a fresh review in our online-store not-TOYS.com – “Type 94″ Japanese Tankette in 1/72 from IBG Models is first guest in our “reviews” section.

Box & Box-Art

Box made from strong cardboard. Box-art is very good, but i need more “drive” and “sharpen details” on picture.

Box contains…

…6 sprues with 48 plastic details, photoetched frame with 10 details, decal sheet for two versions of tankette and assembly/painting guide.

Details, i think, are perfect quality (i see small rivets on the tankette body!!!). Wheels & tracks made by one detail – it is very convenient for modellers.

Decals made for two versions of tankette:

  • Type 94 Japanese tankette, late production type, unknown Imperial Japanese Navy Land Forces unit, 1941
  • Type 94 Japanese tankette, late production type, unknown Imperial Japanese Army unit, 1942

And what version of Type 94 you like?

Assembly/painting guide is clear and understandable.

Test-Build

Test-build is very well. But work with photoetched parts is realy hard. But final result is very amazing.

Result

It’s really nice small model for all modellers, who collect WWII tanks & tankettes in 1/72 scale. Recommended for build it! And of course, You can BUY IT NOW from our online-store (if this model have “Out of Stock” status, please don’t cry – backorders also available – just click on “Waitlist” button).

History note about prototype

Type 94 Tankette design was based on the famous Carden-Loyd construction and entered service in Japanese Imperial Army in 1935. Tankettes of this type were supposed to function as reconnaissance vehicles, but in reality were also used as tractors (of ammunition trailers among others) or infantry support. Type 94 Tankettes were used during the second Sino-Japanese War, the battles of Khalkhin Gol and World War 2. These tanks were efficient against Chinese forces, but their armor was much too weak for the conditions of the War on the Pacific.
